Discover Tanmirt: Where Flavorful Visions Come Alive!
Family oriented
Saffron has been in our family for multiple generations. My father was a saffron farmer, which has made me grow up with it too. Growing up with such a specific product makes you learn the ins and outs. Over the years I've learned the different tastes, colours and growing conditions of saffron. Learning through the different harvest which will be a succesful one according to the weather, the way the sun comes through or even on how hard the wind goes. After the passing of my father, the farm has been handled by people from the village. They help my family with harvesting and selling to nearby cities. I've always felt to take on the legacy of my father, but never had a concrete vision on how.
Proces
Saffron, an herb derived from the flower known as 'Crocus sativus,' is esteemed for its distinctive red pistil. Often referred to as "red gold," saffron's high value is attributed to the intricate process of cultivation and harvesting. The production of one kilogram of saffron necessitates the cultivation of approximately 150,000 Crocus sativus flowers, as only a small portion of each flower is utilized. The flowering period of Crocus sativus spans only eight days annually, typically occurring between October and November. Each flower yields three red pistils and three gold stamens, requiring meticulous hand-harvesting of each pistil. This labor-intensive process contributes to the precious nature of saffron, rendering it nearly as valuable as gold.

Origine & quality
Nestled in the heart of a rugged plateau on the outskirts of the Argan forest, Taliouine, located in South-West Morocco, has gained renown for its exceptional saffron. Positioned amidst a landscape adorned with argan trees, extending from the village of Assaki to the sea, Taliouine benefits from optimal climate and soil conditions, creating an ideal setting for cultivating saffron. This locale has emerged as a prominent saffron-producing hub in Morocco, achieving global acclaim for the unparalleled quality of its saffron.

The saffron produced in Taliouine is distinguished by its vibrant color and unique flavor profile. Local farmers, adhering to traditional methods, meticulously hand-harvest the delicate Crocus Sativus flowers. This region's saffron industry holds deep cultural significance, contributing significantly to Taliouine's reputation as a key saffron producer.

Despite the absence of distinct saffron varieties, the value of the product is attributed to the Souktana plateau's territory, the region's climate, and the expertise of the producers. This synergy of geographical factors and traditional knowledge underscores the exceptional quality and value of saffron originating from Taliouine.
Our Mission
Tanmirt
In Berber the word tanmirt means 'thank you/thankfull'. Which we have translated to being grateful. Our main mission with selling this beautiful product is that we feel beyond grateful to have this unique product. The feeling of this gratitude comes together with how we look at our company and how we go through every step.
From the fields, tracking the sun, the wind and staying in close touch with the literal flower. To the workers, who handpick and pick the saffraan from each flower. To the processing and transporting to the Netherland and lastly the buyers.
Our Commitment
