Panna Cotta With Saffron and An Orange Sirop

Dessert

This dessert is for 2-3 people.

It takes 20 minutes to make and it needs a minimum of two hours in the fridge or freezer.

Ingredients

  • 1,5 leaves of gelatine

  • 400 milliliter of cream

  • about 0,5 - 1,0 gram of saffron

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 38 gram sugar

  • 4 gram vanilla sugar

For the sirop

  • 1 orange

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Recipe

Step two

Pour the mixture of cream in your silicone or metal molds. Leave them there until they are completely cooled down.

Once they are cooled down you can place the molds in the fridge/freezer for a minimum of 2 hours)

Step one

Leave the gelatine approximately for 5-10 minutes in cold water.

Put the cream, saffron, cinnamon, sugar and vanilla sugar together in a pan and heat it till it reaches boiling point. Keep stirring until the sugar has completely melted.

Take the cinnamon out of the mixture.

Take the gelatine out of the cold water and squeeze it, add t to the mixture of cream until its melted.

Step three

Peel one orange and cut it into small thin strips (I normally only use 1/4 of the peel).

Squeeze the orange and let the juice with the peel and sugar cook. Leave it to cook until all sugar has melted. After this let the sirop cool off.

To get the panna cotta from the molds, you can shortly put them in a bit of hot water so it easily goes out of the mold.

After this pour some of the sirop and garnish with the peel of the orange.
